Marion Connections Workforce Development & Employment Opportunities

 

Ohio Works First (OWF) is a time limited cash assistance program requiring participation in a work experience for a designated number of hours per week.  It is designed to help meet the financial needs of eligible adults with children to prepare them to become self-sufficient.

Program Requirements:

  • Meet with a case manager and discuss the customers' employment experiences, work-related skills and level of education, as well as identification of challenges preventing self-sufficient employment..
  • Supportive services are agreed upon to resolve the barriers to employment.
  • A work assignment is decided on that will prepare the customer for future employment which is put in writing on a Self-Sufficiency Contract (SSC) form.
